Fanfare Vagabontu was first produced on stage at the Festival du Soleil Marseille in June 2005. They constitute one of the only authentically Gypsy Band based in France. This formation is composed of eight horns and two percussionists: Ghitsa Iorga, trumpeter of the Roma community in Marseille was joined by nine colleagues arrived from Moldova Romania. All were born in neighboring villages (Zece Prajini, Doaga, Pungiesti) and met at weddings and baptisms premises. For brass band music in Moldova continues to occupy an important place in everyday life. The emergence of wind instruments in the region date because of the Ottoman occupation of Romania and the Balkans. The trombones and flutes torches were designed to frighten away the enemy!
